# Godwit SIM: Travel data by text. No app, no checkout.

Godwit SIM sells prepaid, data-only travel eSIMs by text message. Text a number and our AI assistant helps you pick a plan. You pay through a secure Stripe link, and the eSIM arrives as a tap-to-install link. No app, no account, no QR code.

## Text or call to start

- United Kingdom: +44 7886 075616 (SMS and voice calls)
- Australia: +61 420 114 041 (SMS and voice calls)

Calls work too. On a call, the assistant texts the payment and install links to the number that called.

Godwit SIM messaging program. You start the conversation by texting us; we only reply to people who message first. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

You will be talking to Godwit SIM's AI assistant. Reply HUMAN to reach a person.

Using an AI assistant? Tell it to text this number for you. Assistants can read the [AI agent guide](https://godwitsim.com/agents.md).

## How it works

1. **Text.** Send a message to the number for your country and say where you are going.
2. **Choose.** Our AI assistant asks what you need and offers plans with the price in your currency.
3. **Pay by link.** You get a secure Stripe link. Apple Pay and Google Pay work. We never ask for card details in a message.
4. **Tap to install.** The eSIM arrives as a tap-to-install link, with a manual code as a backup. No app, no account, no QR code.

## What to know

- You need an unlocked phone that supports eSIM. Most phones from the last five years do; our AI assistant can check yours.
- It is data only. No phone number comes with it, so keep your usual SIM for calls, texts and emergency numbers.
- Keep the eSIM switched off until you land. Validity starts when it first connects to a network, not when you buy it.
- If it never installed or never connected, you get a full refund. See the refund policy for the rest.

## Why the name

Godwit SIM is named after the bar-tailed godwit, which flies about 13,000 km from Alaska to Tasmania without landing.
